Biblical stories have influenced and inspired us for millenia; they are themes for movies, plays, books, and music.  As moral allegories, they inform civil and criminal law in much of the world.  Since no original images exist to document the actual look of biblical characters and events, artists such as Michelangelo, Rembrandt and Chegall have provided unique interpretations of their own.
Having studied Judaic, Medieval and Renaissance religious art in the United States, Isreal and Europe, I decided to contribute a Biblical print series of my own.  In this series I have taken liberties in regard to interpretation by placing ancient characters in contemporary settings.

A questioning and a response to that questioning that leads to more questions. This is the infinite karmic loop of how humanity understands the universe. It is not the answers we seek. Instead, we find meaning in the act of seeking these answers.
My investigation into the inner-workings of the universe begin with a response to forms in nature. A response to natural forms that when unified initiate a cerebral awareness of the concealed gestalt of the universe; the unknown, unexpected, and unfathomed concepts of space and time. Existing on a shared plane of the microcosm and the macrocosm, I hope to communicate an uncertainty of what humanity considers its reality. It challenges established belief systems through a pseudo-theosophic integration of science, art and mysticism. Teetering on the edge of two abysses, one of hope and one of meaninglessness, my work aims to transcend inward beyond the scope of both to enrich the human consciousness.

The visual has always captivated me.  My art makes use of vivid color schemes, fluid rhythmical movements, and a sense of formal harmony through symbolic forms.  My work is inspired by spirituality , music and nature.

On Fire Full Shot

I have been creating, drawing, and painting my entire life. I grew up in a small town outside of Atlanta, Ga and moved to Manhattan in my mid-20's. I had never seen a world like the one I experienced my first few years in Manhattan. My artwork has been influenced by artists such as Andy Warhol, Alex Katz, and numerous photorealistic artists. I have observed the money, the hedonisim, and the indulgences of people in this great city of Manhattan and those feelings are translated into my paintings.

My artistic goal is to bridge the gap between the temporal and the ethereal realms by interpreting visually what can only be characterized as an intuitive rhythm.  The immaterial is the conduit with which I intend to evoke a deep introspective posture that is sometimes elusive within the constraints of modern society.  My purpose is a singular encounter with each composition.

In the pursuit of artistic mastery, the realization of one’s own contribution to the celebration of life, these paintings are a collage framed in intellectual and emotional interpretations of experiences transfigured through physical gestation, manifesting in contrast and composition.  Drawings are a personal exercise to master the tonal undulations of light cascading over recognizable volumes of space, capturing an individual moment in time by means of the most simplistic of mediums; pencil and paper.

I am trying to create a body of art that exists between tattoo art, graffiti, and traditional techniques that artists from the 19th century did with oil paintings.  I want my work to have a heavy impact on the viewer and a heavy impact on the on anyone that encounters all the elements in which I have included .
I want to leave an image in the viewers mind that will make them question my ideas and also take them into my painting to make them feel what I felt when it was painted. Whether it is a graphic poster with type, or a more thought out painting with more emphasis on the historical idea, I want people to view my work as different and bizarre.  My paintings should also tell a story to viewers that take time a notice hidden elements from old folk tales and past and future political affairs.  My number one goal is to make everyone that comes in contact with my work question life. What is the ultimate purpose? Are we really the only living organisms besides plants and animals?

Wanting, but not willing
'Wanting, but not  willing'

I approach my work very intuitively, but based on the discipline of training and experience.  I respond to ideas, images, sights, and sounds around me and weave them together with past history, experiences, and memories.  I also work from an eco-political position, responding to current environmental concerns and themes of political justice.  This group of small collages is based primarily on expressions of the universal human experience, and in particular of life's early years when the infant is both powerless and powerful-thus the paradox, and both the infant and the caretakers must adjust and adapt to each other.  Sometimes this necessity can be painful; other times it brings delight and new growth.
